On May 29, 2023, I had the privilege of acting as a co-organizer of the event titled “Identification and Combat Against Russian Disinformation and Propaganda,” held in Tbilisi. This initiative was a collaboration between Tarand.io, the Ukraine Crisis Media Center’s Hybrid Warfare Analytical Group, and the Georgian Strategic Analysis Center.
During the event, I delivered a presentation on Russia’s information warfare strategy, specifically focusing on the concept known as the “Battle in the Psychosphere.” We examined how the Kremlin employs this approach to influence public perception and manipulate narratives within target societies.
The choice of Tbilisi as the venue was significant, given Georgia’s experiences with Russian military aggression in 2008 and the subsequent large-scale malicious information campaigns. The event featured insights from experts such as Tornike Sharashenidze, Inna Polianska, and Nodar Kharshiladze, who discussed the impact of Russian malicious information activities in Georgia and Ukraine.
